Pet Shop Boys

I first heard the Pet Shop Boys in 1985 while in Tech School in the Air Force. Their first US single, “West End Girls” was getting to be a big hit on the Billboard Charts at the time.

Within a few months, I was stationed in England and quickly discovered that the popular duo was HUGE in their native country, and rightfully so.

I spent the next 3 years in England enjoying countless hits by the Pet Shop Boys and still enjoy hearing their music on the radio today.

I can honestly say that they are my all-time favorite British Electronic Dance Pop Duo out of the endless list of great British Electronic Dance Pop Duo’s in musical history………(is there such a list?) :)

The duo, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, formed the band in 1981 and are still together and performing today, nearly 30 years later.

Some of their classic hits include:

West End Girls

Opportunities (Let’s make lots of Money)

Suburbia

What have I done to deserve this?

It’s a Sin

Rent

Always on my Mind

Domino Dancing

and many others…..

My personal favorite: It’s a Sin

Having sold over 100 million albums worldwide over the course of their career, they are one of the most successful duo’s in Music History.
