Foreigner

Foreigner is a British/American Rock Band that was one of the most popular groups in music during the late 1970’s and much of the 1980’s.

The group was started in New York City in 1976 by English Musician Mick Jones and American Vocalist Lou Gramm.

Their debut album, “Foreigner” was released in 1977.

During their peak years, the band consisted of:

Lou Gramm – Vocals

Mick Jones – Guitar, Keyboards, Bass, Vocals

Ian McDonald – Guitar, Keyboards, Saxophone, Flute

Dennis Elliott – Drums

Rick Wills – Bass

Al Greenwood – Keyboards

The group has released 9 Studio Albums to date.

Thus far, the group has charted 16 singles onto the Billboard Top-40 charts.

It’s top single was “I Want to Know What Love is” which reached #1 on the Billboard Charts in 1984.

Lead Singer Lou Gramm left the band in 2003.

The group has undergone a large number of line-up changes and is still active, though Mick Jones is now the only original member still with the band.

They continue to record and tour and released their most recent album in 2009.
